Liz Hopkins is Program and Operations Manager at PoSI – and also its first employee. Her day-to-day responsibilies include managing the organization's operational, financial and communications functions. She has created organizational systems and processes, helped build communications platforms and managed the development of the Climate Prosperity Greenprint.
Prior to PoSI, Liz worked at the Portland Bureau of Planning + Sustainability as program assistant to PDX Lounge. She also spent time at PDC, helping write the commission’s first sustainability report. Before joining the public sector, Liz worked for two years at Mahlum Architects. She conducted daylighting studies for classroom design with the Integrated Design Lab in Seattle, compared green building rating systems around a case study of the nation’s first LEED Gold rated hospital, coordinated LEED documentation and built physical models.
Liz has been active in Cascadia GBC’s Emerging Green Builders, helping to write and implement the EGB regional design competition and to coordinate a yearly lecture series around the competition’s focus.
Originally from the east coast, she came to the Portland region to attend Reed College, graduating in 2006 with a degree in physics. Her thesis work explored correlations between the quantitative and qualitative aspects of concert hall acoustics.
